Jesus wept when He looked down
and saw destruction in our land.
all the sin and hate and violence
was more than His heart could stand.
He cried to know His message
was being forsaken all around...
He died so we might live,
yet we are living on evil ground.
Jesus grieves when He sees His people
fighting wars without a cause...
we carry on without conviction,
ignoring God and His sacred laws.
Forgive us Lord, as a nation
whose children have gone astray
as Your tears fall down from heaven
let them wash our sins away.
